Last Thursday 10th April a group of students from Primary 5th and Primary 6th (11-12 years old) had a skype meeting with students from Cyprus. The topic was Easter, Students from both countries exchange questions about traditions and customs in Easter in each country. All students paid attention and were very excited because they had the opportunity to contact students from a country which was lots of kilometres away. As an anecdote, students from Cyprus were interested in the way sculptures representing scenes of last days of Christ were showed in streets and the special clothes people wore.
A continuación mostramos algunas fotos del encuentro:
Here you can see some photos of the meeting:
Aquí os dejo también algunos vídeos de nuestra localidad celebrando la pasión de Cristo.
Here you can also watch some videos from our city celebrating Christ passion.
Una muestra de la saeta, popular cante dedicado a la Virgen o a Cristo, muy parecido al flamenco.
This is a "Saeta" popular kind of folk singing in honour of the Virgin Mother or to Christ. It's very similar to "Flamenco"
Y para ayudaros a haceros una idea de cómo van los costaleros bajo el paso os dejamos otro video de uno de los ensayos previos a la celebración de la Semana Santa.
To help you better understanding about the way "The Costaleros" (men) are under Scultures you can watch one of the previous trainings before the celebraton of Holy Week.
